What is CPAP treatment?
CPAP treatment uses air pressure to treat breathing problems, such as sleep apnea, or COPD. During sleep apnea, your airway constricts during sleep which causes loud snoring and keeps you from restful sleep. CPAP and BIPAP treatment stops your airway from being blocked by sleep apnea and helps you stay more aerated. This allows you to improve your personal quality of life and feel refreshed in the morning.
CPAP treatment uses:
- A mask that fits over your nose or mouth
- A machine to create air pressure
- A hose that connects the mask to the machine
CPAPs have been determined to reduce the chances of stroke, heart attack, lack of oxygen to the brain, and improve diabetes.
